Golf Committee Meeting

02/06/2024

Meeting held by Jake (Head Pro), Bob George is the Committee’s Chair.

The local Rules have been updated to eliminate the white stakes on hole #18 and the addition of relief for bird dung that interferes with stance or swing. It is considered GROUND UNDER REPAIR(GUR). Relief without penalty may be taken.

Some upcoming dates:

• Many dates for Fitting Days i.e XXIO, Taylormade, Cobra, etc.

• April 3 – Masters Par 3 contest

• April 10 – Mens’ Derby Begins

• April 12 – Glow Ball Tournament (8pm)

Communication for Club events should be available in the The Quad – weekly email from Troy. The home page of Four Tees in the Bay Club Connect App is also a good source of information for what is happening with golf at our Club; this is where you will find daily notices i.e. frost delays, driving range hours, cart path only, etc.

New riding carts are coming in March/April and will have GPS. Great benefit for the pro shop to limit access to parts of the course that they do not want carts on. This will be especially helpful for outside tournaments.

Golf Course Update from Chris Dubas (course superintendent)

• Drainage is his top.

• Course is very wet and mowing will slowly start this week as the course dries out.

• Maintenance crews are working on green side and fairway bunkers.

• Currently have 6 full time and 4 part time maintenance workers – looking for 4 more FT workers.

• Many trees will be removed for play-ability and turf health over the next several months; will start with removals on hole #5.

• Reclaimed Water – Still not turned on. EBMUD hired outside agency to evaluate and assess the low inlet pressure.
