Guest Speakers:
Doug Giannini and Paula Neubert , Vice President East Bay Campuses
Paula provided updates on the club and what to expect in 2025.
• Do not expect any significant changes upstairs in the next 8 months as programming proceeds.
• Expect the upstairs being used more for member activities, old and new. Examples given were Bingo Night and Dueling Pianos. Possibly put some ping-pong tables in the space during the day.
• No longer have CC Sharks swim team. This provides opportunity to plan some fun summer activities at the pool.
• Golf Course is BC’s focus. The irrigation system is under intense scrutiny. There are 2500 water heads on the course. To date, 900 have been reviewed. BC has a dedicated Irrigation Specialist on payroll.
Jake Saito - Clarification on the Hole-in-One program & collapsing/removing tee times.
• Sign up for Hole-in-One program in the pro shop. You are not charged until there is a hole-in-one, then charge is $2.00. On day a hole-in-one is made (must be on CC course), the Pro Shop places a very large flag in one of the putting green holes notifying all the hole-in-one. Members of the Hole in-One Program, go to the Vintage, give them your name, and collect your “free” well drink.
• Tee Sheets – Pro Shop is requesting CCWGA members sign up for our weekly play days at least 6 days in advance. This request is being made so that if all our protected tee times are not being used, the Pro Shop can release them to other members. The Pro Shop will consolidate CCWGA tee times if necessary being sure not to separate CCWGA members.
• Fit Days – Jake encouraged us to take advantage of trying different clubs on Fit Days. Sign up for private fittings in the Pro Shop. 2/7 – Taylor Made; 2/8 – XXIO (15% off! On Fit Days); 2/25 – PXG; 2/28 – Zuno; 3/1 – Callaway. Watch for Fit days throughout the year – there will be many.

Tournaments, Sandi Rose – Play Day Information & Golf Genius Admin – Pat Rocero
• Weekly games are integrated with Golf Genius thanks to remarkable dedication and work by Pat Rocero. She deserves a standing ovation for all she has done to streamline and record our rounds.
• You will be able to sign up for weekly games one month in advance.
• There will be 2 paper cards and one Golf Genius score kept. The Golf Genius score card is the official card. Only one paper card needs to be turned in and no signatures are required.
• Please, please, please – check on-line at 7:30 am the day of play to confirm you tee time. Although you should be notified of any changes through Golf Genius, it is your responsibility to confirm your tee time. Sometimes tee times are changed for a variety of reasons, including consolidation of CCWGA protected tee times. Also – you may cancel up to 7:30 am the day of play on-line! If you are signed up and find you are not able to play, please cancel as soon as possible.
• The game, the pin placement, and if winter or summer rules should be noted on the score cards.
Rules, Lisa Hatchett
• Lisa suggests everyone download the USGA Rules of Golf app to their phones.
• An on-course rules class is being conducted by Suzanne Olsen, NCGA Rules Official, on 2/19 @ 4 PM & 2/21 @ 8:30 AM. The content is the same both days.
Handicap, Louise Fong - Importance of posting
• Encourages everyone to post as soon as possible after completing a round.
• Louise will spot check to be sure members are posting all rounds (not just on playdays).
• Linda Fromm and other members expressed their disappointment in the 2024 BOD voting to eliminate Most Improved Player award. It appeared than most members would like the award reinstituted.
